CAPTAIN CAMPBELL’S QUEST.
MAY COME TO NEW ZEALAND
(United Prees Association — By Electric Telegraph Copyright}. Received 2 o.m. to-day. NEW" YORK, Jan. 8.
A Jacksonville (Florida) message states that Mr L. Warren Baker, the Florida representative of the American Automobile Association Contest Board, said to-day that Captain Malcolm Campbell may select a New Zealand beach instead of Daytona for his world record attempt. Mr Baker said the inability of the city officials of Daytona to raise sufficient funds for another speed contest led Captain Campbell to consider the North Auckland beach.
