BLAZE IN CITY
WELLINGTON PREALISES GUTTED

A fir? which broke out in a photographic workroom in Victoria Buildings Manners Street, about S o’clock last evening, caused damage to several business premises in the building. The promises which suffered were those of the Regent Photographic Studio, which was gutted ; A. E. Donaldson, a blind specialist, the contents of which were damaged by water; and Alar tin’s boot store, portion of the stock of which was damaged, by water.
The, fir© started in the workroom of the .photographic- studio, which is on the. first floor, and spread from there to the other parts of the photographers establishment. The brigade received a call at B.S -p.m., and although the fire had then a good hold, the brigade soon had it nnder control. The building, which is a three-story wooden and brick structure, is owned by Airs Whelan. No particulars of the insurances are available.
