Bailey’ the Englishman! and four times world’s champion, marked a professional cycling meeting at Herne Hill, London, recently. The. result of the international encounter was l a triumph for Bailey, who, aftei* losing the first of the three races, showed superior track-craft to beat ■ the Dane in the remaining two contests. Ini the first race, over a distance, of one lap, Hansen allowed his opponent to .make the; pace until the home! straight, when the Dane .shot ahead, to- win by inches in 48sec. 'Bailey levelled matters by taking the second race (.11 laps).
