NEW ZEALANDERS MEET. ASSEMBLY AT NEWCASTLE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) NEWCASTLE, Dec. IS. A hundred and fifty New Zealanders resident in the Newcastle area held their first reunion in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Auckland Street. The principal guests were Mr. L. J. Schmitt, New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Australia, and his wife. Mr. P. .T. Hogan, an Aucklander, was elected president of a strong exetive. and Mr. Schmitt announced the appointment of n New Zealnnd_ sub agent tit Newcastle to deal with the tourist, busineses.
He expressed the hope that Mr. Forbes, when returning from the Imperial Conference, would ho able to visit Newcastle and see the vast steel workshops and other big industries.
