HAWKE CUP CHALLENGE. TARANAKI TO PLAY WAIKATO. Advice lias been received by the Taranaki Association from the New Zealand Cricket Council that the challenge made by Taranaki against Y\ aikato has been allowed and is to be plaved during the Christmas holidays, with the condition that the winners must be prepared to play' another challenger early in the New Year. This has been accepted and the dates suggested are December 26 and 27 at Hamilton. If these are accepted the Taranaki team will leave on Christmas Day for Hamilton. HIGH SCHOOL CRICKET. Nelson College has sent a team across to New Plymouth to play the annual fixture with the local High School and the match will be played to-day and to-morrow. TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW. Old Boys’ teams for to-morrow will be : A team: Lay, Hayes. Moloney, Hammond, Dowdie, Gray, Walker. Jordan, Coleman, Lendrum. Thrush, Foster. B team: Cheevers. Barker (9) Sturrock, Pacev, Morrison. Turnbull. Milrov, Clapham. Smith. Ogden. Perrett. This match will commence at 1.30 p.m.
