At an extraordinary meeting of shareholders in Sydney Ferries, Limited, a. proposal for a reduction of capital ■ v a .return to shareholders of £228.- <! ! 1 If>' of elnp-ilai was after which the company's capita! will amount to £341 1,000. 1 1 was announced that all claims in connection with the- Greydliff accident had .been settled. The Ferry and Union Companies had decided, while not admitting the liability, to facilitate. ex gratia, the isettlementis of claims lodged on behalf of passengers, because! it. was felt tha t appeals- to the Privy Council, which otherwise were unavoidable, might delay final settlement for two or three years.
