COUNTY PAY REDUCED
TEN PER CENT. WAGE CUT. (By Telegrapn—trees Association.) GISBORNE, Dec. 18. The Cook County Council has deluded that the following reductions of salaries and wages shall operate from February 1: Up to £3OO, 10 per cent. ; £3OO to £4OO, 12i per cent.; £4OO and over, 15 per cent.; wages of all workmen, 10 per cent.; horse hire, 20 per cent. The council has also decided to allow an extra month’s grace before the enforcement of the penalty on overdue rates.
