BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL
ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL.
On Sunday the Hawera Baptist Sunday School celebrated its second anniversary, when special services were held. The Rev. T. Keith Even preached in the morning to a large congregation, taking as his special message to the children the text “Seek ye the Lord.” The children provided the musical portion of the service with a fine selection of sacred songs. In tlie afternoon the Rev. E. S. Smmitt spoke to the children and gave an interesting nature study on Paul’s great message that “Ye are all of one family and therefore equally important in the eyes of God.” At the evening service the church was again filled and an excellent programme of children’s songs and choruses were rendered in a delightful manner by the children. One of then items, “Wide as tlie Ocean,” nas by special request rendered a second time later in the service so that the congregation might have the opportunity of joining in the chorus. Mr. F. u . Horner conducted the musical choir and Miss Z. Curran presided at the organ and was assisted by Mi\ J. Moloney on tlie violin. Rev. Even addressed the children on the text “Praise ye ■the Lord” and urged them to remember that their anniversary services were a suitable occasion on which to exercise the great privilege and duty oi praise to- God. This evening the children s tea will be held at 6 o’clock and the children's anniversary concert at 7.15. An attractive programme of items lias been arranged and the children’s choir will again sing. The public are again invited to be present.
