AUSTRALIAN MEAT STRIKE
ATTACK ON MASTER BUTCHERS. CONFLICT WITH POLICE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 12.30 p.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Dec. 1. An attempt to wreck barracks occupied by master butchers at Aberdeen, who were killing stock for the Sydney trade, was made by about 30 men. They maintained a fuisilade of missiles, throwing until scattered by the police, who fired over the heads of the attackers. Large quantities of blue metal were hurled through the doorways and windows of the barracks, where there were 54 butchers. Wild scenes took place when the p dice, who were also living on the premises, brought revolvers into play. Additional police have been rushed to Aberdeen, where all is now quiet.
