IN DIVORCE
At the New Plymouth Supreme Court on Saturday before the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) Sarah Hilda Nairn, of Manaia, (Mr. P. O’Dea) was granted a decree: nisi from Oswald Walter Nairn, of Coromandel. The parties were married in 1921 and respondent deserted petitioner in 1924, but had never really maintained petitioner, it was stated.
Carl Ed. C. Ansford (Mr. A. Chrystal) petitioned for the restitution of conjugal rights, the respondent being May Ansford.
The petitioner said the marriage took place in August, 1921, and the parties had lived in Eltham. They ceased to live together in November, 1929, and since then the respondent had refused to live with the petitioner. In answer to his Honour the petitioner said money matters were the beginning of the trouble, his wife being very extravagant. He really wanted the re--l.ondent and the child back again. He had a home for her at the time she left, and had offered her a home on several occasions since' she left, A, decree fur restitution was made, to l.c complied within 14 days. In the following .petitions decrees nisi were made absolute: Emily Prestidge (Mr. A. A. Rennet) v. Lewis Prestidge, with custody of children; Ida G. I. Owen (Mr. T. P. Anderson) v. Arthur G. Owen • Richard . Larsen (Mr. O. H. Weston) v. Elsie T. Larsen. On the application of Maggie Phil'•:s (Mr. L. M. Moss) in respect of Georg© Thomas Phillips (Mr. A. A. Bennet), a decree was made absolute, petitioner being: given custody, of one child, and access to and control of the .other two during school holidays. A petition for permanent maintenance was granted at the rate of £2l 13s 4d monthly (£l7 6s 8d for petitioner and '-‘4 6s 8d for one child). Costs totalling £7 7s were awarded against rei -omlerit with disbursemens.
