EGMONT SHOW
PROTEST AND INQUIRY. GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. The general committee of the Egmont A. and P. Association met at Hawera on Saturday afternoon. There were present: Messrs W. McL’Dowie (president), J. A. Pettigrew, W. Pollock. J. Kerrisk, A. Lanltow, W. H. Reynolds, J. Thomlinson, N. -C. Tregea, A. C. Lovelock. J. E. Campbell, B. C. Eysaght, A. 0. Tonks. E. L. Death. .1. B. Laurenson, F. Gillanders, E. A. Washer, G. Ford, A. Appleyard, R. McCay, and M. C. Crighton (secretary). The meeting went into committee during consideration of a protest concerning a prize-winning exhibit in the horse section and also to make inquiry into the allocation of points for one of the Jersey classes. . On resuming in open meeting after a discussion of an hour and a half, it was reported that, on information at present available with reference to the horse section protest, the committee was satised the exhibitor had acted in good faith, but that on a question of a particular conference rule, it had been decided to refer the protest to the North Island conference. On the Jersey class inquiry it- was reported that no further action was required, the entry which led to the inquiry having been accepted as correct. Resulting upon correspondence received from the Taranaki Rugby Union concerning the use of the show grounds, the executive committee was appointed to confer with the Rugby Union representatives on the ground on Saturday next.
The meeting was adjourned until 1.30 p.m. on Saturday next.
