The death is reported by cable from London of J. T. Tylclesley, the cricketer. Mr W. G. Walk ley, of Hawera, the secretary of the South Taranaki Automobile Association, has been appointed acting-secretary of the North Island Motor Union. Miss G. Lees, of Okaiawa, left today for Wellington and will proceed by the Maheno to-morrow t-o Melbourne, where she is to make an extended holiday visit. Mr D. W. McClurg, of Wellington, passed through Hawera yesterday on, his way to Auckland, and spent the afternoon with Mr and Mrs H. J. Finlav, of Tokaora. Sir Herbert. Stanley will take up his • new appointment as High Commissioner for Britain in South Africa next .April.
