A fortunate escape from possible serious injury was experienced by’jMr. J. Matheson, of Hawera, yesterday afternoon, when a heavy motor lorry he was driving became unmanageable iii a skid on the Main South Road between. Manaia and Irialia and finally crashed, toppling sideways against the road hank: ” The cab top of the’ lorry was broken and Mr. Matheson was. rendered partly unconscious. Suffering from shock he was conveyed to' Ms home, but was otherwise uninjured.
