Mr. G. W. Forbes, New Zealand Prime Minister, visited Oxford, where he was met by Sir Francis Wylie, secretary of the Rhodes Trust, says a London cable. He met several New Zealanders at tea in the common room at New College. Later lie met the Dominion’s undergraduates at Rhodes House.
Hon. G. W. Forbes and Sir Thomas Sidey will dine with the Prince of Wales at York House to-night (states a London cable). Mr. R. N. Morpeth, of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand in Hawera, has received advice of his transfer on promotion to Wanganui, where he will be accountant. He expects to leave for his new location about the middle of November.
Mi* R. McOay, of Hawera, left by the south express this morning to visit the Wairarapa district and subsequently the South Island. Mr J. B. Murdoch, of Hawera, left by this morning’s express train to visit the King Country district. Hon. G. M. Thomson, M.L.0., who has been on a. visit to his son.. Hr W. M. Thomson at Hawera, left by the south express this morning to proceed to Dunedin.
