ROVAL WEDDING IN ASSISI

The King and Queen of Italy, Princess Giolvanne, King Boris of Bulgaria and Signor Mussolini have arrived at Assisi for the marriage of the princess amd King Boris. The town is in a state of feverish excitement. Every 'house is bedecked wifTi the green, white and red 1 of the Italian and Bulgarian colours during the day while the city is outlined in orange' lights throughout the night which, contrasted, with the deep blue skv, converted the old world town " to a spectacle of fantastic beauty. The ceremony at the church will be most simple. ’ All women present at the church! wiiM] wear high-necked gowns, long sleeves and white veils, while 300 little girls of Assisi will be dressed in white silk, a gift of the bride. The children will strew white roses in the path when the bride and groom go to the church. Porty local women have been working day and night for three weeks on the wedding veil, which will follow the design of the mantle that covered Saint Francis at the time of bis death. After the ceremony in the upper church the bridal party will go to the lower church to venerate the ashes of the saint.
