LONDON, Oct. 26.
It is feared that over 100 are dead ax Maybach mine, near Saarbrueken, Germany. Twenty .dead have been, brought to the surface, and 90 are still missing. It is believed the/e is -little chance of rescuing them alive. One miner states the -catastrophe was caused by the exploding of a petrol locomotive in a side gallery, which, in turn exploded coal dust. Dense .clouds cif yellow smoke have appeared on the surface, indicating that the galleries are on fire.
News of the -Maybach disaster reached Alsdorf -while 150,0-00 people were attending the funeral of the 300 victims of Tuesday’s catastrophe. The burial lasted some hours, during which several hundred Communists appeared in the market place and played -Communists airs. They came into collision with the police, who dispersed them.
