TE KIRI
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Into Mr R, H. Gatenby, who passed away in Hawera on Sunday,, was well and favourably known in Dus district, having owned the Te Kni and also the old Aw at-in i a stores about 20 years ago. He left the grocery business here about IS years ago to go farming in the Toko district and since had been in Tatramaika. au/i latterly in the Mat-apu district. Mr Gatenby was of a genial and hospitable disposition and will be much missed by a large circle of friends. He 'leaves a family of eight—Mrs L. Morris (Kakaramea), Misses M. S. and \Y. Gatenby. and Messrs R. H. Gatenby (To Kin), P. I I. Gatenby (Awatnna), and \V. and. A. Gatenbe (Matapu). Mrs Gatenby predeceased him by five years. The funeral, which was largely attended. took place at Tatramaika yesterday, the pall-bearers being MessrsR.. and P. Gatenby (sons), \Y. and T. Gatenby (brothers), L. Morris (son-in-law), and F. Gatenby (nephew-. The late Mr A. Main, of Mokoia. who passed away last week, was also at one time managing the store here. Old identities of Awatuna and Te Kiri will extend sympathy to both families in their hour of sorrow.
