MAN’S HOUR-LONG AGONY. HUSH TRAMWAY ACCIDENT.(By Telegraph—Press .Association.) AUCKLAND. Oct. 22. Buried under a massive weight or .;,g$ when a bush truck on winch lie ,vas travelling, .overturned, Charms William Tuckey, a sawmill worker, emoyet at Gamman’s sawmill, Ohaxune Junction, was forced to lie in agony for over an hour this- afternoon mfoie lie was discovered. Medical aid was summoned, l-vt fucker had received terrible injuries which resulted in his death shortly afterward. Turnkey was a single man, aged 26, vhose (parents reside near Taihape. Te was working on a bush- tramway carrying logs from the bush to themill. , The fully-laden truck on which he -as travelling back to themil tapized as it was going down mil, iml •uelcev "' as pinned to the ground by die weight of the logs which fell on tc'> of him. , , - - It was nearly an hour before another truck came down the tramway’ -nd Tuckey’ plight was discovered. Workmen were immediately called to ■issi-st in removing tlio heavy logs, and after a few minutes of strenuous' error t Tuckey was freed. However, Ins Las and ribs were badly crushed, and he was unable to move. - .•> The 'injured man was burned _to Ohakune, where lie received attention However, the injuries to his chest wore very serious, and within an hour he died. ..
