HAW ERA BULL FAIR

EXCELLENT AVERAGE PRICE

There was a capital tone throughout the sale of pedigree Jersey bulls offered under the auspices of the Hawera Jrsey Cattle Club, which was concluded yesterday afternoon.

The attendance of prospective buyers was very gratifying and l the bidding generatily was very brisk. The result was the very satisfactory average for the (57 animals sold of over £23. The majority were taken by farmers :n lire district.

The sale was conducted by Messrs. Newton King, Ltii., and the Farmers Co-operative Organisation Society in conjunction. Tiie auctioneers were Messrs. AV.. B. Fe&ron (Newton King, Ltd.) and C. G. Trotter, general manager, and H. "VVooffinden (Farmers’ Coop). The price secured was 52gns for the two-year-old bull Royal Oak Hardcast', by Beauty’s Master —Royal Oak Kewpie, submitted by Mr. A. J. Hale, New Plymouth, and ‘purchased by Mr. A. J. Gibbs, Alton. The next best price, 4ogns, was realised bv the two-year-old bull Jersey Park Distinction (Holly Oak Squire— Jersey Park Jolly), which, was submitted by AV. Pollock, Hawera, and secured bv E. Benton, AYaitotara. Several other two-year-olds 'realised over 40 guineas. The feature of the sale was the demand for two-year-olds, the 30 sold averaging over £3O. Among the yearlings the top price. 34 guineas was made by A. J. Hale’s Royal Oak Sarron and W. Pollock’s denser Park Victor, which were purchased respectively byJL, F. Bell (Mokoi'a,') and R. Buckley^Ai-arata). The balance of the list of sales was as below:
