Court sitting before Mr Justice Adams, Julia Devaney, hotel-keeper, claimed from the Bank of New Zealand, Hokitika, a receipt for £2OO for an alleged fixed deposit. After hearing lengthy evidence judgmnt was given for defendant iwith costs. His Honour stating that the evid-'■ric-e for plaintiff was unreliable, not necessarily from deliberate intention, but possibly from failing age. His Honour entirely exonerated the bank and its staff from any responsibility. Tie considered a most improper claim had been made.
