Mr. It,. Mortlock, of Hawera, left today on a visit to Wellington.
Mr. J. O’Dea. who has been spending the vacation with this parent®, Mr. and Mrs. P. O’Dea, of Hawera, left to-day to return to Otago University. Mr. R. L. Bennett who has been spending the vacation at the home of his parents :at Manaia, left to-day to return to the Otago University. Mr. H. A. Higgs, of the Hawera rail- 1 way staff, is on his annual leave of absence and left to-day to visit Auckland.
Two members of the Eltham 'Golf Olub —Mr ,amd Mrs H. St. Leger Beeves —who are leaving Eltham to reside in Hawera, were farewelled at the club house on Thursday. For the past three years Mr Beeves has been secretary of the men's club, and! Mrs Beeves has been secretary of the Bodies' 'Club since it® inception. The president (Mr J. Campbell), referred to the excellent service both had rendered to the club and the great progress that has taken place during their term. He was very sorry to lose such valuable ‘members, but he hoped they would have a happy and successful future in Hawera. As a memento of their association iwith the Eltha-m iGolf Club a tea service was presented by the members.
