NOTES FOR THE WEEK,
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
On Wednesday evening (September .1) the Ohangai Football Club held a very successful euchre party and dance in the local hall. There was a huge attendance from all parts of the district and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment. The ladies’ prizes were won by Miss J. Lander, after a play-off .with Mrs E. Wills and Airs T. Hey respectively, and the men’s prize was won by Mr R. Wills. The consolation prizes were awarded to Miss F. Elmos and Mr G. Bowers in their respective sections. Music for 1 lie dancing was contributed by the Melody Makers, and during the supper interval extras were played by Mr R. Wills and Alissc G. Savage. Last evening the Ohangai Hall Committee held a euchre party, but there was not a very large attendance. Those present, however, passed the evening pleasantly and prizes were won by Miss G. Savage and Mr M. Murray. The consolation prize winners were Airs .f. Davidson aind Turu. who played off with Afr R, Hartlev.
The milk supply is going; up fast. an<l the season promises to be good. A steel whey tank with a frame made of railway sleepers has bepn erected by W. Taylor, who has made a great job of the work.
