SAAR BASIN OCCUPATION
QUESTION AT LEAGUE! COUNCIL.
(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 2.45 p.m., to-day.. LONDON, Sept. 9. During a frank debate at. the Geneva Council regarding the continuance of the French occupation of the Saar Basin, a delegate urged: its speedy termination.
M. Briand repled that only 250 troops were now necessary to ensure the free movements l of trains. France did not intend permanent occupation. It was arranged that a sub-commit-tee discuss the matter preliminary to the Council’s examination.
