SNAKES AND FROGS
MAN WITH UNIQUE COLLECTION. ' ‘‘The Snake Charmer of Somerset” is a title that might well be claimed by Mr Harry Gould, of Iloliester. He has a remarkable power over snakes and handles with confidence his collection of over 30, which includes angry vipers and constrictors. ' Mr Gould has also scores of tree frogs, lizards, hundreds of English frogs! English glow-worms, and English great warty newts, all of which are housed- in glass cases fitted with heating apparatus. In addition there are several small pools and tanks containing fine specimens of goldfLsh. Other tanks for other fish are filled with sea water, which Mr Gould fetches from the coast. With the excaption of goldfish, he caught the whole of his collection himself. He sends large numbers of snakes snd frogs to London, where they are distributed to various hospitals for medical research.
