DAIRY LABORATORY
DEPARTMENT ‘CONTROL SUGGESTED. COMPANY SUPPLIERS’ KESO- ! LUTION The opinion was expressed by a supplier at the annual meeting of the Cardiff Dairy Company that the time had arrived when the Minister of Agriculture should be asked to take ovct the control and management of the dairy laboratory at Hawera. Another speaker was of opinion that it was a very timely move when the Federation of Dairy Companies estab--1 lished its own laboratory and the Dairy Division and the Massey College ‘between them had not contributed any material assistance from a research point of view. A motion before the meeting was a recommendation to the directors to discontinue the company’s association with the federation and the laboratory at Hawera. The chairman and several speakers gave specific instances of largo savings that had accrued to the company because of the scientist’s findings, but the recommendation was carried on the show of bands.
