(By Telegraph-Press Association.) CARTERTON, Aug. 7. There was a tragic accident at the
Cl are vi lie level railway crossing this morning when Dr. Frank Adrian Morton was killed instantly. He was going to call on a patient and apparently did not see or hear the train approaching till he was within a few feet of the* line. The evidence shows that he jammed on his brakes, but the car .skidded in loose metal and the engine caught the ear in the middle and smashed it into an unrecognisable mass. Dr. Morton .was thrown out on the other side of cattle stops and killed instantly. He was a young man and had been practising in Carterton for the past two years. He leaves a widow, Dr. Win. Morton.
