DOMINION COUNCIL MEETS

FINANCING OF TOURS

The council of the New; Zealand Amateur Athletic Association received a, letter from the Wellington, Centre pointing out that a larger proportion of the expense of financing the tours of visiting overseas athletes was borne by it than 'by any other centre. AA el--1 ingtoui suggested that each centre pay an°even amount for each sports meeting held, but that a Saturday gathering should be worth more than a Wednesday one. This money would be o-iven to the council and the centres would keep their profits or pay thenlosses. Each centre would pay the council 25 per cent, of the net profits. The council resolved to send the suggestions to the centres for comment. Canterbury’s application for a certificate for standard time registered at the last championship meeting in the relav race was granted. Mr L. A. Tracy, the secretary, rev ported that he had taken steps to secure an extension of the time limit of 21 days in connection with the proposed tour of American athletes.
