In the Magistrate’s Court to-day Herbert Ormond Lawrence, aged 30, was remanded to August 5 on charges of - stealing £BO. the property of the Government, from the Addington l ost Office, yesterday. Bail was allowed m self of £2OO and- one suritv of £2OO. It- is alleged that the money was stolen, from the counter while the clerk had his back turned, and that this sum was later .recovered from a- hedge after a chase down a .street..
