Opening the. quarterly session of the Supreme Court this morning, Mr. Justice Blair said that Palmerston North could be congratulated in two respects, namely its elevation to tbe dignity of a. city and the fact that there was only one criminal case for trial—a case that was only quasi-criminal, involving negligence in the driving of a car, thereby causing the death of another person.
