COMMISSION'S FIRST MEETING. (By Telegraph- -Pror.s Association). WELLINGTON, .Tune If). The first meeting of the Royal Commission appointed to investigate all branches of the Railway Department s aetivities and advise where economies could he made was held in Parliament Buildings to-day. Preliminary matters only were touched by members, who first met the Prime Minister (Hon. CL W. Forbes) in his room for discussion. A wide field has to be covered by the commission. which has had IS points submitted to it in the order of reference. Regular meetings will be hold from now on and a report is tc bo ready for presentation not later than September I. Completion b\ that date will no doubt make it possible for the document to be discussed during the coming session of Parliament.
