MINISTER OF CUSTOMS
HON. J. B. DONALD APPOINTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.; WELLINGTON, Dec. 21. With reference to the readjustment of the Ministerial portfolios consequent upon the. Hon. T. M. Wilford becoming High Commissioner, Sir Joseph Ward to-<day announced further that the Hon. W. B. Taverner Had relinquished his portfolio of Minister of Customs and that the GovernorGeneral had appointed the. Hon. J. B. Donald to that office.
Sir Joseph Ward said that it would be understood that tlie change was .solely iii the interests of departmental convenience, and that it would also afford some necessary relief from a heavy burden of work upon the Hcfn. Mr. Taverner, whose administration of the portfolio of Customs had been of real value to the country»
