HAWERA v. PATEA. Four rinks from the Wednesday players of the Hawera Bowling Club jour- ] neyed to Paten, yesterday to fulfil a 'Shield match. The weather was unfavourable rind after playing a couple of keadA the was aimn<l oned. PARK CLUB. SATURDAY’S MATCH. The fourth match, of the Shield series will be played at Ma.naia on Saturday next. The following are the rinks selected to represent the Park Club:— Machin, Brett, Column, Mason; Parkes, Campbell, Curtis, Quin; Roberts, Murdoch, Butler, Goodwin: Villars, W. Barnett, Hotter, Hawkins. Players are notified that the conveyance will leave the pavilion at 1.15 p.m. sharp. Anyone unable to travel should notify the secretary immediately. To-morrow afternoon an interesting match has been arranged to take place on the Park green at 3.30 p.m., when a school teachers’ rink will try conclusions with a Park rink. The following are the participating players: School: Stone, Thomas, Griffin, and Mason. Park: McLaren, Murdoch, Goodwin, Quin. On Tuesday evening a rink representing the Hawera Club played good bowls to capture the Cann (No. 1) Cup. The following were the scores: Champion, Maslin, Adaimson. Squire (Hawera.) 28 v. Murdoch, Villars, Goodwin, McLaren (Park) 16.
