VOTE SPLITTING.
PROBABLE AT HUTT BYELECTION. (By Telegraph—Special to “The Star.”) AVELLINGTON, Nov. 16. At the Reform committee’s selection meeting to determine the official candidate for the Hutt seat two candidates will he considered: Mr John Jacobson, a Petone Boi-ough Councillor, and Mi’ Harold F. Johnston, a partner in a firm of AA r ellington solicitors, and a son-in-law of Sir Francis Dillon Bell.
Apparently Mr H. D. Benne'tt will be an Independent Reform candidate.
