BOROUGH COUNCIL VACANCY. MR. IV. RICKETTS ELECTED. A by-election held at Eltham yesterday to fill the vacancy caused 1 in the Borough ounciii by the death of the late Mr G. W .Taylor showed Mr W. For three years he has been president of the Soutii Taranaki School Committees’ Association, and his service as a member of the Ettbam School Committee includes the office of chairman for the last five years. Among other activities he has served as a member of the Eltham Chamber ol Commerce, executive and as si. member of the Eltham Progress Committee. He was the founder of the Eltham Returned Soldiers’ league and its first president, and still hoids that office.
