With several trainers away at the Alarton meeting, there was little important. work at the track this morning.

The W anganui meeting commences next Thursday, and local horses are being handicapped by weather conditions rendering the tracks unsuitable forgfast. work. The trial grass track is still very heavy, and the sand was in most demand.

Bisox was exercised on the centre of the course, trotting and cantering). Llano re sprinted down the hack of the sand track, running three furlongs in 39 1-5. Benzor®. after being trotted on the inside, galloped six furlongs on the grass, doing the first four in 57secs. without being hurried. Sih-ermine scalloped his hailf-miSe on the sand’ track, registering 53secs. Golden Flower and Men dip were allotted pace work. Airtight is in good buckle and galloped half a mile at tlie end of his work in 56fsec.
