KAPONGA JERSEY CLUB.

TENTH ANNUAL MEETING. The tenth annual meeting of the Knponga Jersey Club, held at Ivaponga last evening, was attended' by Messrs S. J. Halliard, president (in the chair) > W. A. Guv,* C. P. Crowley, C. E. Morrissey, C. W. N. Rowe, j. H. Bentley, Horace Mellow, J. H. Phillips and S. I. Sadler (secretary). The balance-sheet presented showed receipts for the past year to be £l9 15s Sd, including a balance of £S ,10s 7-d brought, forward, the total being made up iby members ’ subscriptions (£ll Os 6d) and a small amount of interest on savings bank deposit. Expenditure totalled £4 10. s Id (stationery £1 5s Id, telegrams and stamps 10s 3d, wreath and card £1 5s 9d>. entertainment of provincial council £1 15s), leaving a credit balance of £l4 19s Sd.

In moving adoption of the balancesheet, the chairman remarked on the improved financial position, of the club and the revived interest of members in the annual bull fair. Entries for the forthcoming fair in October closed, with a. total of 7G bulls and one heifer as against 50 bulls and five heifers for the 1928 fixture. It was, he said, pleasing to note that the standard of excellence in the ,animals presented haid been maintained and there wa's every assurance that in this' respect,the 1929 fair would be no exception to the rule. In the interests of both purchasers and vendors the meeting would be asked t’o appoint am inspection committee-, the result of whose selection would be equivalent to a guarantee of soundness and quality. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

The election of officer’s for the ensuing year resulted as. follows: President, Air S. J. Hollard, Kaponga (re-elected); vice-president, Air C. P. Crowley, Kaponga; committee, Alessrs W. A. Guy (Alatapu), Horace Aiello w (Kaponga), C. W. N. Rowe (Rowan), C. E. Aforrissey (Kaponga), J. H. Bentley (Kaponga); honorary auditor, Air R. G. Cook; hon. secretary, Air S. I. Sadler.

INSPECTION COAIAIITTEE. Alessrs J. Pettigrew (Pibama) and G. Ford (Hawera.) were appointed an. inspection committee. PEDIGREE BULL FAIR, It was resolved that the 76 bulls entered for the forthcoming fair be subject to three ballots to determine the order of sale, the first ballot permitting each vendor to offer two animals in succession, and the second and third ballots each providing for the offer of three animals in succession. All bulls are to be yarded- at 10 a.m. sharp in readiness for the opening of the fair at II a.m.

Air Alorrissey announced that with a view to facilitating transport of animalsl presented at the fair a loading ■bank has been provided at the saleyards. ' An honorarium of five guinea® was voted to the secretary (Air S. I. Sadler) in recognition of his services during the year. Votes of thanks- were accorded to the chairman.
