REPARATIONS IN KIND.
FILM STUDIOS IN FRANCE. LONDON, Aug. 19. It is reported that German firms on the reparation account am build-ing a French Hollywood on the Riviera, says -the Berlin correspondontf- of “The Times. ” The French film industry considers that the Riviera possesses advantages of climate and scenery winch render it eminently suitable for film production, and contracts for constructing silent and vocal studios between Marseilles and Nice have been placed with a German firm, which will execute them, under the heading of “reparations in kind.” German firms will also effect the -electrical installation, the contracts being worth £1,500,000.
A -curious statement is -added to the effect that the French Ministry of War has stipulated that the buildings mustbe so constructed as to be convertible at need to accommodate troops and aircraft.
