LEPERS INVADE TOWN.
ESCAPE FROM SEGREGATION. INHABITANTS IN PANIC. LONDON, Aug. 19. Twenty lepers, after escaping from the Ismail segregation camp, threw tbe town of Jassy, 200 miles north of Bucharest, into a panic, says the Vienna correspondent of the “Daily Mail.” They presented themselves at tlbo prefecture, demanding better treatment, and all but the gendarmes fled. The gendarmes had the utmost difficulty in persuading the lepers to return, threatening to shoot them if they refused. A decree was issued ordering the disinfection of the entire town.
