HAWERA TRACK NOTES

A number of the Hawera horses engaged on .Saturday were given their final gallops this morning. All the fast work was performed on the trial grass track, which is still on the slow side. The inner plough has been finished off and proved in excellent order for strong pa.ee work. Ross Ferry and Ngawhine, from a standing start, nan five furlongs, in 1.12 with iioss> Ferr-v doing l best at the finish.

Fartlaga and Latakia were: companions over four furlongs and finished' on even terms in 55. Latakia. should! shape better on the firmer going on Saturday. Havering and Bisox did strong pace work on the inside plough. Bisox hag yet to redeem herself, and may do so any time now. as she is particularly well. .

The two jumpers, Pikimai and Chn.rma.ine, galloped once round together, running their last six furlongs in 1.28 4-5.

Llanore. and Si 1 vermin.?, were given pa.ee work on the plough track. Grand Marnia had Silent as a mate, tbe pair reaching the five furlong post at a flying start and l went evenly throughout, dping their first three in 42 and finishing up on even terms in 1.10.

Annoyer. looking very well!, was allotted strong pace work' on the plough. Benzorn’s task was easy pace. work. Term ere and Boundary ~ gal loped four furlongs, the former finishing half ai length in front in 55 2-5. The two Scurry candidates. Royal Satin and Joy Spear, did three-quarter pace work, -simflar tasks being ail lotted! Glengariff and Richfield.

Guard of Honour, who is engaged in the maiden race at Marten next Wednesday. ran three furlongs' nicely in 42secs.
