In tiie English County cricket competitions Yorkshire made 304 runs in the first innings (Qklroyd 140), Gregory took five wickets for 64 rims; in the second innings they made 315 runs for one wicket (Holmes 142, Sutcliffe 123 not out). Surrey in the first innings made 408 (Sandbam 187, Bailing 85). Surrey won on the first innings. Gloucester made 173 in the first innings. Meyer took five wickets for 66 runs; in the second innings they made 200. Galthorpe took four wickets for 39 runs.. Warwick in the first innings made 102, Barnett took four wickets for 65 runs and Goddard four for 29; in the second innings they made 165 (Wyatt 58). Gloucester won by 116 runs. Nottingham made 267 runs in the first ings- (George Gunn 109 not out), Tate took six wickets for 71 runs; m the second innings they made 333 runs for three wickets (George Gunn 83, A. Staples 90, Whysail’l 79). Sussex in the first innings made 282 (Duleepsinhji 64, Parks 75). Sussex w'on on the first innings. Middlesex made 400 runs in the first innings (Guise 97, Robins 106); in the second innings they made 218 runs for two wickets declared (Haig not out 100, Hendren not out 103). Somerset in the first innings made 245 (Longrigg 88), Peebles took four wickets for 71 runs; in the second innings they made 219 Robins took six wickets for 43 runs. Middlesex won iby 154 runs. Hampshire made 69 runs in the first innings, Hopwoqd took six wickets-for 34 runs; in the second innings, they made 168 runs (Mead not out 83), R. Tyldesley took six -wickets for 32 runs. Lancashire in the first, innings made 99, Boyes took four wickets for 40 and Newman four for 28; in the second dnn- , ings they made 139 runs for seven wickBoyes took five wickets for 52 runs. Lancashire won by three wickets. Derby in the first innings made 359. Glamorgan in the first innings made 179 and followed on, making 1.06 runs for four wickets. Derby won on the first innings. Leicester in the first innings made 268 and.in the second innings they Joist eight widiets for 190 runs and 1 declared. Essex in the first innings made 162, and in the second innings 191 for five wickets. Leicester won on the first innings. Northants in the first innings made 413 and in the second innings 165 runs for three wickets declared. Worcester made 172 runs in the first innings and 193 in the second innings. Northants won by 213 runs.
