The August number of the Co-opera-tor, the monthly magazine of the Farmers ’ Co-operative Organisation, is, as always, full of interesting anti useful information from cover ito- cover.

He urges that there j should ha ve been, instead of so much I increased taxation-to meet a deficit, ef-1 [forts made to curtail expenditure or effect economies in some way. j The other articles include one on the j manufacture of fertilisers, growing of mangolds, the value of salt, hints on, three planting and bee-keeping, with a I series of reports on stock sales held in various parts during the month. The ladies ’ page with its ‘ ‘ household hints ’ ’ completes a, very useful number of the magazine, which is printed for the Farmers’ Co-op. by the ‘ ‘ Howera Star. ’ ’
