ALLOCATION OF PERMITS.
A COMPLAINT FROM STRATFORD. (Bv Telegraph —Press Association.) STRATFORD, August 15. At the- annual meeting of the Stratford Racing Club, Mr, A. Coleman referred to the scandalous manner in which Taranaki had been treated as regards extra racing permits. The four racing clubs in Taranaki had eleven days’ racing and there was a population of 68,000 in the racing district. Hawke’s Bay, with a population of 64,000 had twenty-six days’ racing, Southland, the west coast of the South Island and Otago had too many permits. Taranaki wars justly entitled to three more permits.
