ELDERLY MAX MISSING, ißv Xelcffrapb rn-as Aasix-iatiob. i HAMILTON, A,ug. 15. Henry Hinton, aged So, has been missing since Monday. He Ls described as a strongly built man, oft lOin in height, with grev hair and beard. He was staying at a hoarding-house at Frankton, later went to visit a son •• .at Ohaupo, and came back to Haniilton, where all trace has been lost. • -'v The missing man is well known in the Waikato, and has sons at Hamilton, Taupiri, Ohaupo, and Ohinewai, and a sister at Newstead. TO ELIMINATE TWO LEVEL CROSSINGS. WELLINGTON, August 15. The need for a ramp over the Petono crossing, also the Hutt park crossing was recognised by Sir Joseph Ward to-day when a local bodies deputation claimed that the Government should hear the expense. Sir Joseph Ward remarked that there was a large number of people using the motor sett-vices who paid • nothing towards the roads except ordinary taxation. He offered to suggest to his colleagues that the Government should pay two-thirds and the local bodies should find flit' rest. The Government money would not come out of the highway funds. The Pet due ramp is estimated to cost £58,C00 and the other £IO,OOO.
