RIOTS IN NEW ORLEANS. TRAMWAY STRIKERS CAUSEi TROUBLE. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copy right, j o (Australian Press Association.} NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 14. The- acting-Mayor and' four city councillors were attacked by an infuriated mob of tramway strikers in the council chambers last uigbt. Battling bis way to their aid with drawn pistol, the police captain fired shots which wounded 1 four persons. The riot was the beginning of wild disorder throughout the city "that was not ended until the mob bad stoned andi burned a tramcar and terrorised the residents.
