(.From Our Own Correspondent). G 1 FT EVENING'. A gilt evening in connection with a bazaar (•:> be belli in aid of the fumbyol <>24. Aidants Church, organised by the, i Indies 01, the Guikl, was held in the ba.il on Friday evening, when there was a, very good attendance. A nice collection of useful articles was gathered together, and formed a substantial nucleus towards the object in view. The first part of the evening way tievoted to progressive euchre, the winners ■being Mrs F. Cl. Del, Is, and Mr T. I vac. In this there was also a, hidden number competition, the prizes being won by Mrs McDonald and Master It. Hours'. ilcy. Dancing interspersed with musical items, was then indulged in, .those giving items being All’s Penny (reoitation), Aliss Lees, Mrs Johnstone, Air G. Gotten'll (songs), and Master Ted Drake (piano solo,). All these, items were of exceptional merit and each performer had to respond to an encore,. The dance music wais supplied voluntiU’i'ly by those present. Two competitions were' also decided, and were won by A! rs W. Power -(nightdress) and Airy. J. C. Wood (shawl).. Supper was provided by the ladies’ eommiittoe, the members of which were Mosdamcs ,E. Mortimer, I). Edwards, J. Johnston, J.
Barclay, W\ Clarke, Shearer, A. Shearer and Solomon. Rev. C. W. Solomon thanked all those who had brought gifts ami who had helped towards the success of the evening. The evening was voted a most, enjoyable one, the only thing to which exception wa.s taken being the thoughtless jalctkm of a uujnjbcr of youths in smoking in the hail, one oven going so far to indulge in the habit at the supper table.
