OVERTURES FOE COMPROMISE REPUDIATED. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Aug. 12. An important, meeting of the coal minors’ council held at Sydney to-dav decided to repudiate the overtures for a compromise with the owners as proposed by the engine-drivers’ executive a fortnight ago. The miners’ council still adheres to the policy of no wage reduction.
