The lee.ntoimrv celebrations of ibe> foundations of Perth wore held yesterday. The city was beffngged and the SV:ut<» Governor. Sir Wi’iLiam Cbnvptou, in the presence of a large crowd 1 , unveiled a commcimnTat'ive tablet on the wall of the Town Hall. The Governor read a, letter from Lord Pass field stating that the King had conferred the dignity of Lord Mayoralty on the city. The first Lord Mayor is Mr J. T. Franklin, M.L.O.
