SCHOOL-LEAVING AGE.
TO BE RAISED IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) Received 11.35 a.m., to-day. RUGBY, .J illy 18. The Minister of Education (Sir. C. Trevelyan) announced that the Government had carefully considered the most suitable date for raising -the school leaving age of children to 15. After weighing all the circumsjtfljices, they had decided to prepare the necessary legislation to raise the school age as from April Ist. 1931. He was at once asking the representatives of focal education authorities and professional bodies to meet him with a' view to consul tat ion and, eo-operation.
