In the accounts for the City of London for the year ended March 31, 1928, are the items: Lobes for the Lord Mayor. £194 15s 6d ; fuel for the Mansion House, £354 4s lOd; and £11,551 for entertaining the city’s important '/nests including £2133 10s lid; for the visit of the Duke and Dutches-* of York and £2409 19s lOd for the King of Afghanistan.
The “faking” of antiques is now so thoroughly carried: out that old china is reproduced, marks and all complete, so exactly that ev r en experts may he puzzled.
