“GOING UP.”
OPKR.ATIO SOCIETY’S PRODUCTION. Preparations for the Hawera Amateii):' Operatic' Stociety’s presentation of “Doing Uup,” in September are well in train, and the practices, of which there have been six or seven already, are going with a swing. About 4members are attending the practices, and under Mr. H. Webb good progress is being made. So far chorus work lias received attention, but the casting committee will be meeting shortly, and it is expected that before the next practice the cast will be announced. All round the quality ot the voices is better this year, and the production is expected to make fresh records for the society. There are still several vacancies, and any persons desirous of linking should do so i mmediately.
